P6 at the Line Hotel

Without a doubt, the BEST view of Lake Travis from all of these rooftop bars in Austin is from the Line Hotel rooftop bar called P6. This rooftop is one of the best views of the sunset over the water, but you definitely do pay a premium for those cocktails.

This is a spot I like to take parents or family from out of town because they’ll appreciate the view and not usually mind those cocktail prices!

La Piscina at the Austin Proper Hotel

La Piscina IS open to the public and has one of the most beautiful views of the sunset in Austin! The perfect spot if you’re staying at the hotel too, of course. The is the perfect pool-side cocktail spot or date night view for two. Especially cool if you’re with a bachelorette party of some form!

They also do have a restaurant and serve food, but I have not tried the food myself and don’t want to vouch for it!

Zanzibar Rooftop

One of the newest rooftop bars in Austin and easily one of the most beautiful. While the view itself isn’t going to rival the view from the P6 Rooftop, the vibe of Zanzibar is absolutely unbeatable and feels like you’re in a true oasis.

If you want a rooftop that feels like it doesn’t belong on the roof but you aren’t mad that it is, then this is the place to go! I would recommend making a reservation since they do get busy on weekends with groups!

Second Bar at the Archer Hotel

A little tricky to find this one, but the views of the Domain and the fire pits absolutely make it worth it! Plus, killer happy hour deals. I am sold. To get to their rooftop, just climb up the stairs in the hotel lobby and follow them as they go straight. Along with the windows, you’ll notice a door, and that’s your entrance!

I would have to say this is my second favorite, and it is second only to P6! The views of downtown are amazing, but what I love about this spot is how it’s a grassy outdoor vibe with games and picnic tables rather than over the top classy.

Perfect for a fun happy hour with friends after work! Also one of the best rooftop bars in Austin that offers a wide range of cocktail specials.

Hotel Van Zandt Rooftop

This hotel has one of the most stunning rooftops out there, and since it’s just on the edge of the city it comes with an incredible view. This is a place I would definitely recommend taking your parents if they’re in town, or if you have out of town guests for business! Also, love their rooftop pool area if you feel like taking a dip. Especially if you can expense the drinks…then this rooftop bar in Austin is way worth it.

El Alma

Not only does El Alma have a gorgeous rooftop and great drinks, but the Tex Mex is good too! A perfect spot to grab dinner and drinks both, and get a pretty view from just south of the river. Also, have to recommend getting one of their margaritas!

Somehow Speakeasy has become more of a hidden gem for locals in the past few years as the newer rooftop bars pop up! Still always packed to the brim at night and a gorgeous spot for sunset during the day. I haven’t been back in YEARS but need to soon!
